I was made bankrupt previously and think this may stop me getting a mortgage.

Is this right?

Hi,

Previously being made bankrupt may well have an impact on your situation, but depending on the details there are lenders out there that would consider the case.

The variables that will be critical are:

The exact date of the bankruptcy registration and discharge
Your deposit level (as a % of the overall purchase price)
If you have any adverse credit recorded after the bankruptcy discharge

Depending upon the answers to the above, there may well be a reduced pool of lenders available
