Currently living with parent and wanting to get a house. Salary 15k a year and deposit available of 20k. I have seen a property for 80k but have no idea on how to buy it or go about buying. Only outgoing now is under £100. I have just recently been able to reduce it as I have paid a large number of utilities off right up to end of contract such as mobile etc. I have had a DMP previous paid off 8 months ago. I have been in full time stable employment for over 10 years. I have 1 default settled on my credit report over 3 years ago settled. Current Experian credit score 823. I have asked at my local bank just to see if I would be able to get a mortgage in the past in principle and the last advisor in the bank just laughed at me; this was a long time ago and I have never forgot it. Would you be able to help me; I don’t think I would welcome the humiliation if I went direct again.

Morning,

I am sorry the bank made you feel this way, as many people experience bad credit for a variety of reasons. What you have detailed is certainly achievable now, although you are very tight on affordability.
Worth noting in the current climate, that if you are currently furloughed this becomes infinitely harder..
Well done on finishing the DMP, all the best
