Hi
Do you think it would be possible to get a shared ownership mortgage whilst on a DMP? I have defaults through the DMP. But the last one registered was 3 years ago.
My husband had 1 satisfied default on his file which was registered over 3 years ago.
We have the 5% deposit needed.
Thanks

Hi, thanks for getting in contact.

I’m afraid at present it is unlikely that you would be approved for a Shared Ownership mortgage whilst currently in a DMP.

Shared Ownership is very tricky with credit issues as due to current events there is essentially only 1 specialist lender in the UK considering these applications.

Have you explored the option of the Help to Buy equity scheme?

That offers some flexibility with deposit and can be possible with your credit profile.
