I have defaults on my credit report, how long after the default was put on the report until I can apply to remortgage?

Hi Henry,

There are no specific timelines, it will depend upon the overall situation.

Defaults will stay on your file for 6 years from registration, but many lenders will consider them depending upon the overall situation.

We are successfully remortgaging clients every day with defaults on their file, so please try not to worry....

Thanks, I also have a loan and phone contract finishing in July - is it better to wait until they are finish before applying?

The phone contract is unlikely to make much of a difference, but the loan will depend upon the monthly payment and whether you intend to repay it or not out of any remortgage.

loan will be finished in July.
I have filled in the quiz twice now and have not received an email, is the system down?

Adrian and Kerry were fantastic at securing a mortgage for us given a challenging set of circumstances, both were friendly and on hand to answer questions and concerns at every stage of the application process through to offer. Unfortunately due to an improved situation we were able to secure a better offer elsewhere so didn't proceed, however, despite this it doesn't detract from the excellent work Simply do for people with challenging and difficult circumstances. I would highly recommend, especially if you think you can't get a mortgage!

So, we had Aime as our advisor, words can’t express how much she has helped us, she has been at our side from day one, no matter how many questions we had she was always on the end of the phone and email. We are first time buyers so have no clue of mortgage talk, Aime never made us feel silly for asking basic stuff, she is able to break things down to human talk. I couldn’t recommend Aime or the company more. It’s a shame we won’t get to talk to her as often now we have our home. Buy a house with Aime at your side, you’re in safe hands. We love her.
